Power and Water apprentices in the spotlight

A Power and Water apprentice in Alice Springs has been named the Group Training Northern Territory Outstanding Apprentice of the Year.

Apprentices Georgena James and Patrick Lucchese were both finalists in the 2023 GTNT Group Awards, which celebrate and recognise the achievements of apprentices, trainees, students, supervisors and host businesses across the Northern Territory.

Georgena won Outstanding Apprentice of the Year Stage 1 and was recognised as a finalist for the NAWIC Award for Outstanding Female in Construction Industry. Georgena is completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician with our Power Services team in Alice Springs.

Patrick was named runner-up for Outstanding Apprentice of the Year Stage 1. Patrick is completing a Certificate III in Electricity Supply Industry – Power Systems Distribution – Overhead with our Power Services team in Katherine.

'These are outstanding achievements in a very competitive field and demonstrates the expertise and passion of our people in delivering essential services to our customers and the community.'

Power and Water was also the proud sponsor of the School-Based Apprentice of the Year Award, which highlights young up and coming Territorians who are excelling in their chosen profession.

Congratulations to the winner Lilly Bright, runner-up Hailee Leather, and finalists Coby Goody and Bianca Schultz.
