Our Corporation’s vision for reconciliation is that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have the same opportunities in health, employment and education as other Territorians. We believe corporate and government bodies can all play a contributing role in building a secure future for all Territorians.
Reconciliation Action Plan
Power and Water is the first Northern Territory government-owned corporation to create a Reconciliation Action Plan.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan shares a vision for ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have the same opportunities in health, employment and education as all other Territorians.
The plan outlines a clear set of actions through to June 2019. Following this, we will look at the results, talk about what worked and what we can improve on, and set new goals.
Large organisations like ours play a leading role in building community capacity. That is why we strive to be an employer of choice and a workplace which supports cultural diversity.
We are dedicated to creating stronger relationships. We know there is a lot to learn from Indigenous Australians.
We respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their cultures, land and history. We actively promote cultural awareness.
We support culturally and socially inclusive workplaces and recognise the importance of planning opportunities for education, leadership, training and employment.
