Sewer upgrade to deliver safe and reliable service well into the future

Works will start next Monday 16 May to upgrade the sewer network at the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Trower Road, Alawa.

This work will ensure Power and Water can continue to deliver a safe and reliable service to our community now and into the future.

“This part of the network has started to show signs of deterioration,” Senior Project Manager, Water Services Liam Early said.

“We’ll be replacing valves and the connecting infrastructure, which will provide security to the sewer network in the area for the next 60 years.”

There will not be any disruption to traffic on Trower Road or Lakeside Drive and traffic signage will be in place.

Access to the foot/bike path will be reduced.

Local residents should not notice any change in the sewer services while these work take place.

Power and Water invests in infrastructure refurbishment, replacement and upgrades to ensure the provision of reliable and high quality services.

Works are expected to be completed by 30 June.
