We are upgrading the sewer network at the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Trower Road, Alawa.

Parts of the network have started to break and need replacement.

This work will ensure we continue to deliver a safe and reliable service to our community now and into the future, with the replacement infrastructure designed to have an operational life of around 60 years.

About the works

We have scheduled the works to replace three valves and the connecting infrastructure with new valves and a custom made Y-junction in a new alignment during the dry season when demand on the system is at its lowest.

Mousellis and Sons has been contracted to undertake the works which will start on Monday 16 May 2022 and are expected to be completed by the end of June.

They will be carried out from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm on Saturdays.

Sewerage services will be rerouted to other areas of the network in this area for the duration of the works.

Works will take place on the verge at the corner of Lakeside Drive and Trower Road.

For public safety the works site will be temporarily fenced and foot/bike path access reduced. Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works.

Customers should not notice any change in the sewer service during the works and property connection points will not be affected.

If you live close to the Lakeside Drive and Trower Road intersection you may notice a slightly higher noise level in the area from the excavation and construction works.

If you use the foot/bike path on Trower Road (outbound) and Lakeside Drive (outbound) you may need to go around the work site. Please follow the safety direction signs.

We do not anticipate needing to interrupt traffic flow in Lakeside Drive or Trower Road during the works. However we will provide signage advising of the works.

We do not anticipate needing to detour vehicle traffic for these works. However, a portion of the foot/bike path will be restricted.
