Popular water program heads back to school

Power and Water’s popular That’s My Water! sustainability and STEM program is heading back to Territory schools for the seventh year.

Expressions of Interest are open now for schools to register their interest in having the award winning program in their classrooms this year.

That’s My Water! raises awareness of how water is sourced and treated and encourages students to creatively address water security challenges through a range of unique experiences and activities aligned to the Australian Curriculum.

“We’re thrilled about the opportunity to provide this unique and important learning experience that helps young students learn about our water here in the Northern Territory,” Power and Water’s Manager Water Demand Joel Spry said.

“We are now looking for schools that would like to participate in the 2022 That’s My Water! Education Program.”

Since 2016, Power and Water has partnered with the Department of Education to deliver a range of innovative programs with schools across the Territory.

In that time 30 schools and over 3,500 students have participated in the program learning alongside STEM industry professionals, exploring sustainable water use in a range of diverse geographical locations.

Schools interested in participating in the 2022 program are invited to submit an expression of interest in this highly sought after program.

“We’ve had great outcomes with students’ final projects spanning multiple learning areas, including science, geography and music, and included dioramas, audio visual presentations, posters, music and online games,” said Mr Spry.

“We’re really looking forward to taking the next cohort of students, parents and teachers along the journey to learn about water, where it comes from and how important it is to save water.”
