For the second year running, Power and Water Corporation is proudly supporting the Northern Territory Travelling Film Festival as it kicks off its first public screening of the season in the Alice Springs region this weekend.
This partnership will enable Power and Water to demonstrate our long-term commitment to regional and remote Territory communities as part of our Reconciliation Action Plan.
In the lead up to the festival, Power and Water supported the creation and delivery of a bespoke program of workshops, industry knowledge sharing and masterclasses.
The programs for the community screenings and workshops were designed together with local arts and community organisations, filmmakers and schools to encourage creativity while providing opportunities for participants to learn valuable new skills.
Three key groups consisting of emerging filmmakers, established filmmakers and young people were targeted to develop new skills and experiences.
These final short productions by local Aboriginal filmmakers will be shown at all NT Travelling Film Festival screening events.
As part of the festival’s community workshop program, there is also an opportunity for aspiring Aboriginal filmmakers to produce two short films about safety around Power and Water assets and water conservation in language.
The NT Travelling Film Festival celebrates and showcases the outstanding short film, television and video productions from the NT.
This year, the festival will screen in 24 locations across the Territory, setting up an outdoor cinema under the stars among popular tourist hot spots, events, iconic landscapes and in remote Aboriginal communities.
