Nine community organisations and initiatives that will make a difference to the lives of Territorians
are set to benefit from Power and Water’s 2022 Community Grant program.
A record 62 applications were received for the revamped program, with recipients needing to demonstrate how their initiative will help shape the future of the Territory; care for and support Territorians; and uplift or create opportunities for Territorians.
“Our community is at the centre of everything we do and we are proud to be supporting a diverse range of activities and programs that will make a difference right across the Territory,” Power and Water CEO Djuna Pollard said.
The 2022 Community Grant recipients are:
- Variety NT Palmerston Shopping Centre Special Children's Christmas Party
- Aringkawa - Anindilyakwa literacy initiative
- NT Writers Centre – NT Writers Festival
- Top End Pride – 2022 Pride March
- Sunny Science – Alice Springs school holiday STEAM workshop
- Inspired NT – ‘Sew4Science’ 1000 glow in the dark teddy bears remote marathon
- Mataranka School – expansion of the school’s nutrition program vegetable garden
- Yipirinya School – Rhythm 2 Recovery program
- Gurindji Aboriginal Corporation – Gurindji Freedom Day Festival
“We are excited to be creating relationships with so many passionate Territorians and we look
forward to working with them to help make their activities a success,” said Ms Pollard.
Applications for next year’s Community Grants Program will open in February 2023.
