Temporary power disconnection and reconnection application

If you need to temporarily disconnect your electricity supply for safety, building, or operational reasons, and no electrical installation work will be performed, you can submit a request using this form.

Use this form for

tree trimming or vegetation clearance near overhead lines

building works near your meter or service lines (scaffolding, painting, roofing)

short-term isolation for site safety during construction or maintenance

site preparation like fencing, surveying, or geotechnical testing.

Don't use this form if

any electrical work requires a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) under NT WorkSafe

you're replacing or installing a meter, switchboard, or wiring

you're upgrading or modifying service fuses or service lines

the work involves any alterations to the customer’s electrical installation.

For these works submit your request using the Basic Connection application and engage your Retailer to raise the required service orders with Power and Water.

Before you choose a date

  • We’ll email you an invoice after you submit this form.
  • Bookings are only made after payment is received.
  • Your requested date must be at least 5 business days after the date we receive your payment (Monday – Friday, public holidays excluded).
  • If payment is received later than you expect, we’ll move your request to the next available date that meets the 5-business-day rule.
  • Standard appointment windows are 8:00–12:00 or 12:00–16:00. Exact arrival times can’t be guaranteed.

Example: If we receive your payment on a Tuesday, the earliest eligible appointment is the following Tuesday (assuming no public holidays).
