Darwin school students help to save more than 18 million litres of water thanks to That’s My Water!
Tuesday 5 November 2024
Students from schools taking part in Power and Water’s 2024 That’s My Water! program have been putting their new knowledge to good use, identifying leaks at their schools that helped save a staggering 18 million litres of water over Term 3 alone.
Among the participating schools, students from Leanyer, Larrakeyah and Alawa primary schools as well as Dripstone Middle School, have become water-saving super sleuths – uncovering everything from leaking toilets to a major irrigation pipe failure and resulting in their combined efforts totalling 18 million litres of water saved.
Power and Water hosts That’s My Water! Expo for Darwin students
Monday 28 October 2024
Power and Water’s 2024 That’s My Water! initiative has seen 600 students from eight schools in Darwin find out more about the Top End’s water story.
Designed to promote water usage awareness, inspire career interest in STEM and challenge students to think about a more sustainable water future, the That’s My Water! Program features an Expo where students share their projects.
This year’s Expo took place on the first day of National Water Week at the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens earlier this week, celebrating the conclusion of the 2024 program.
