Power and Water apprentices won a number of awards at the Annual Group Training NT Awards (GTNT) held in Darwin on Friday 20 April.

The annual awards celebrate and recognise the achievements of apprentices, trainees, students, supervisors and host businesses across the Northern Territory.

Chief Executive Michael Thomson is extremely proud of Power and Water’s apprentice team’s achievements.

“It’s gratifying to have three of our apprentices win their categories, including the prestigious Apprentice of the Year,” Mr Thomson said.

“We are pleased to be able to provide career pathway opportunities at Power and Water, and give our apprentices the support and training they need to succeed.

“I congratulate all the winners and nominees along with their supervisors, who provide the support to ensure such outstanding outcomes,” he said.

Congratulations to Joshua Cawthorne-Crosby, 2018 GTNT Apprentice of the Year. Josh recently completed his Certificate III in Electro-technology Electrician. This is a terrific achievement and testament to Josh’s commitment to his trade throughout his apprenticeship. Josh is based in Alice Springs.

Nathan Powell was named Outstanding Apprentice Stage 3. Nathan is completing his Certificate III in Electro-technology Electrician in Darwin. This great achievement follows being named 2017 Outstanding Apprentice Stage 2. Well done Nathan.

Tim Childs, from Alice Springs, has continued on his winning way being awarded Outstanding apprentice Stage 2. Tim is completing his Certificate III in Electro-technology Electrician and this great recognition follows his Apprentice of the Year win last year. Congratulations Tim.

Supervisor of the year was presented to Power and Water’s Rowan Lee, who only a few years ago was GTNT’s apprentice of the year. Rowan is a Planner/Scheduler, Field Services Underground in Darwin and is dedicated to mentoring and training his team.

Baden Letts received a judge’s commendation award in the Outstanding Apprentice – Stage 2 category, for his success in completing his Certificate III in Electro-technology Electrician. Baden is also based in Alice Springs.

Power and Water was proud to sponsor the awards supporting the School Based Apprentice of the Year, which was awarded to Quinton Appleby. Quinton completed his Certificate II in Animal Studies with the Northern Territory Government’s Territory Wildlife Park. Djuna Pollard, Executive General Manager Power Networks made the award presentation to Quinton.
