Residents who are still without power due to damage caused by Cyclone Marcus are unable to operate their pumps until their services are restored.

If you are running low on water, here is some information to help you plan accordingly:

  • enquire with friends and neighbours about assisting to supply you with water
  • hire a generator from an equipment hire company to power your bore or pump
  • arrange for water to be delivered to your property through a water cartage provider
  • purchase bulk water containers or jerry cans from a hardware store and fill up with water from council filling points (refer to the list below supplied by Litchfield Shire Council)
  • purchase water in large containers from supermarkets.

The Litchfield Council advises that standpipes or water filling points are located at:

  • Girraween Road near Rogers Road, Howard Springs
  • Corner of Duddell and Hopewell Roads, Darwin River
  • Acacia Gap, Manton
  • Randwick Farm, Arnhem Highway, Noonamah

If you are experiencing hardship or are feeling vulnerable, please contact the NT Government's Recovery Assistance Hotline on 1800 700 250 or the Emergency Services Disaster Assist line on 132 500.

We ask for your continued patience and more importantly – remain safe.

Our crews are making excellent progress and power will be restored as soon as possible.

Again, please stay away from fallen powerlines and trees and engage a licensed electrician for any repairs for any electrical work.
