On 1 January 2018, the responsibility for streetlights transfers from Power and Water Corporation to the road controlling authorities across the Northern Territory.
The purpose of the transfer is to provide the road controller with greater control over the assets and costs to deliver their services to the community.
Power and Water’s online forms and mobile app will be modified to reflect the servicing arrangements, displaying only those streetlights serviced by Power and Water:
For an interim period Power and Water will continue to receive telephone notifications on 1800 245 092 for all streetlight defects and refer them to the appropriate streetlight owner.
