Power and Water’s Katherine customer service coordinator Jenny Mackie is the proud recipient of a Chief Minister’s Awards for Excellence Medal.

The Chief Minister’s Awards for Excellence in the Public Sector medals recognise individual’s commitment to excellence. The prestigious award acknowledges an individual’s outstanding and commendable public service.

Jenny was nominated for her thirty one years of tireless and exceptional customer service at Power and Water, commencing in 1986.

“It is an amazing honour to receive the award. This is for all the people that have encouraged, inspired, mentored me and pulled me up when needed,” said Jenny.

Power and Water Chief Executive Michael Thomson is very proud of Jenny’s immense care and loyalty to the organisation and the Katherine community.

Jenny has always fostered wonderful relationships internally and externally, valuing our customers’ needs so we can provide optimal essential services. She shows an outstanding commitment to our team through mentoring, customer service and assisting teams in other regions.”

Jenny has a strong connection to the Katherine community and its residents and is one of their greatest advocates, which includes ensuring that they are always considered in Power and Water’s decision making.”

A vital member of the Power and Water team, Jenny’s willingness to share knowledge, coach and provide overall support to her team and the wider Power and Water community is profound.

Jenny’s proactive involvement in the Katherine community is demonstrated through her eight year participation in the Relay for Life program. Jenny’s team has raised over $30,000 for cancer research since 2010.
