Power and Water’s services are essential to Territorians and it is important that customer feedback is reflected in our future strategies and plans.

On 30 September, the Australian Energy Regulator released its draft decision on Power and Water’s 2024-2029 Regulatory Proposal on our investment plans for the Darwin-Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs electricity networks.

Power and Water is reviewing that feedback and looking to continue to engage with our customers on key areas including the transition to a renewable energy future and uplifts to ICT systems and capabilities.

Tomorrow, we will commence round 6 of our People’s Panels workshops to hear from a cross-section of Territorians who represent our customers, including home owners, solar customers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customers, pensioners and vulnerable customers.

A workshop is being held in Alice Springs on Saturday 7 October and in Darwin on Sunday 15 October, with participants from Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs.

‘We put our customers at the centre of our planning and service delivery and we look forward to more in-depth discussions on the draft decision and our plans for the future through the People’s Panels,’ Power and Water’s Acting Executive General Manager Customer, Strategy and Regulation Jenifer Moore said.

‘Ongoing engagement through our People’s Panels workshops will ensure our customers continue to be heard as we progress through the Australian Energy Regulator’s regulatory proposal process.’

Power and Water will respond to the Australian Energy Regulator with a revised regulatory proposal on 30 November.

Details on the 2024-2029 Regulatory Proposal process and how Power and Water is responding to customer feedback is available on the Power and Water website.

Ends.
