Power and Water Corporation will launch The Ultimate Irrigation User Guide at Landcare NT’s Top End Native Eco-Fair this Saturday.
The organisation is supporting the event at Jingili Water Gardens through its Community Partnerships initiative.
The FREE guide features easy-to-follow tips and advice on how to maintain a thriving garden while reducing water use, including:
· seasonal watering tips
· irrigation scheduling
· irrigation design and maintenance tips
Power and Water’s Water Efficiency Specialist Dan Brown said the guide is invaluable to anyone with a garden, no matter what size.
‘Our gardens can be beautiful and sustainable at the same time,’ Dan said. ‘Even big gardens can be water wise. This new guide is about empowering people to save water without sacrificing the lushness and shade we all value in the Territory.
‘Launching the guide at the Eco-Fair is a perfect fit. This is an event that celebrates our natural environment and inspires practical action.’
To get your free copy of the guide, visit the Power and Water stall. The team will also present at the fair, talking about the new guide and a native garden toolkit.
The Top End Native Eco-Fair brings together environmental experts, native plant suppliers, science educators and community groups for a day of free, family-friendly activities focused on biodiversity, sustainable gardening, and living in harmony with our unique environment.
The program includes a 2,000 native plant giveaway; discounted native species for sale; demonstrations on pruning, mulching, pest management, irrigation and more; bush-tucker sampling; native-bee honey tastings; wildlife displays; bug and plant identification; a Kids Corner with STEM activities; botanical and cultural walks; and a Speaker’s Corner with experts talking about botany, ecology, microbiology and more.
The event takes place at Jingili Water Gardens on Saturday, 23 August 2025, from 8.30am until 3pm. Entry is free, and free water refills will be available from the Power and Water trailer, so bring a bottle.
