Power and Water has launched a new program focused on STEM careers, That’s My Career!
Designed to spark curiosity, build confidence and connect high-school students with future STEM career pathways, That’s My Career! offers a hands-on learning experience.
The program, which follows the success of Power and Water’s That’s My Water! schools program, has been developed around 5 key job roles and is delivered through an engaging full-day workshop.
The workshop includes understanding essential services, exploring STEM pathways, learning about local industries, developing problem-solving skills and showcasing diverse career opportunities available in the Northern Territory.
The face-to-face experiences are delivered by STEM professionals and allow students to step into role-play situations, to learn firsthand about critical infrastructure careers that keep communities running.
‘This exciting hands-on program is designed to inspire Territory students to explore STEM careers. It’s all about giving students real-world experiences, building confidence and showing them the opportunities that exist right here in the Territory,’ said Power and Water Early Careers Adviser Peter Morrison-Evans,
‘From line workers to engineers, there is a gap in skillsets available in the Territory. That’s My Careers! is the conduit to spark excitement from students and identify career opportunities right here.’
