Power and Water's investment in developing people at every stage of their careers is being recognised through a string of prestigious industry awards, with employees from apprentices to executive leadership earning accolades.
The organisation recently celebrated many apprentices and supervisors at the 2026 GTNT Group Awards, where electrical apprentice Damien Aarons was named Apprentice of the Year with Power and Water.
Eleven staff, including apprentices, trainees and a supervisor, were recognised across multiple categories. Power and Water was also named a finalist in the Large Host Employer of the Year category.
That success has continued with two apprentices winning awards at the 2026 Darwin NAIDOC Awards and two of our team members, Georgina Siebert and Belinda Small winning their respective categories at the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC NT) Awards for Excellence, and Joy Quigley recognised as a finalist in the category of Construction Management Professional Award.
Chief Executive Officer, Djuna Pollard said the award wins and nominations reflect a deliberate commitment to creating meaningful career pathways and investing in people throughout their working lives.
"These awards represent far more than individual achievements. They reflect the culture we're building, one where people are supported to learn, grow and realise their potential, whether they're just beginning their career or leading critical parts of our organisation,” Ms Pollard said.
"Every person recognised demonstrates what's possible when talent is matched with opportunity, mentoring and the willingness to keep learning."
Electrical apprentice Georgina Siebert was named Darwin NAIDOC Youth of the Year for the positive impact she is making both in her trade and through her support of emergency response efforts and additionally was recognised as Apprentice of the Year at the NAWIC NT Awards. Fellow apprentice Melinda Martin received the Apprentice of the Year Award at the NAIDOC Awards for paving the way to become the first Aboriginal woman to complete Power and Water's apprenticeship program.
Executive General Manager Power Services, Belinda Small, has taken out the top honour at the 2026 NAWIC NT Awards, receiving the prestigious Crystal Vision Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the construction industry and her commitment to supporting and developing the next generation.
Ms Pollard said it was incredible to see so many of our people recognised over the recent weeks.
