Applications are now open for the 2027 apprenticeship and trainee program, with 11 opportunities available across Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs.
Delivered in partnership with GTNT Group, the highly sought after program has helped develop skilled tradespeople and water operators for more than 30 years, with many participants going on to enjoy long-term careers with Power and Water.
The program combines paid apprentice and trainee pathways with nationally recognised qualifications, giving successful applicants the opportunity to learn on the job with the support from mentors and supervisors.
Power and Water currently support 72 early career employees across the Territory, including apprentices, trainees and graduates.
Our highly successful early careers program is nationally recognised with many apprentices and trainees progressing from apprenticeships into senior positions.
Executive General Manager Power Services, Belinda Small, is one of its greatest success stories. Starting her career as an apprentice with Power and Water, she now leads the corporation's largest business unit and was recently awarded the 2026 NAWIC Crystal Vision Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership and commitment to supporting the next generation of construction professionals.
"Our people are proof of what's possible when talent is matched with opportunity, mentoring and the willingness to keep learning," Ms Small said.
