We offer apprenticeships, traineeships and graduate opportunities across our Alice Springs, Darwin, Katherine and Tennant Creek locations. Our programs help people build skills, gain experience and grow their careers in the utilities sector.

We also support opportunities through the whole-of-government Aboriginal Employment Program. Apprenticeships are available for school leavers through to mature-age applicants and are delivered through Group Training Northern Territory (GTNT) .

We provide trainee and graduate opportunities when vacancies are available and in partnership with the NTG Early Careers Program. They are for people of all ages, whether you’re a school leaver, re-entering the workforce after a break or looking for a career change.

Line worker apprenticeship

During the 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll develop skills in installing, maintaining and inspecting poles, structures and related hardware.

Water operations technician traineeships

We have technical traineeships for water services, known as Water Operations Technician traineeships.

Business traineeships

A traineeship allows you to gain a nationally recognised qualification by combining employment and training.

Electrical apprenticeship

Our electrical fitter mechanics work on electrical machinery as well as wiring and installations.

SCADA and Communications Technician apprenticeship

This apprenticeship builds skills to manage, maintain and secure SCADA systems and communication networks.

Power and Water Graduates

The graduate program provides training, hands-on experience and professional development in a supportive environment.
