Power and Water crews continued working to restore power to Alice Springs residents over the weekend, with 12 properties now remaining without power.

All require a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) before we can reconnect their power. An NT-licensed electrician can provide a CoC, which shows a property is safe to reconnect.

Some of the remaining properties have sustained extensive damage and will require repairs before a CoC can be issued and power restored.

We thank Alice Springs and surrounding communities for their support and patience over the last week.

With restoration efforts nearing completion, our attention is returning to ongoing vegetation management, with tree trimming scheduled to commence in Alice Springs on Tuesday, 27 October after being delayed by the storm.

We remind residents across the Territory to look at trees in their own yard and ensure they are not within 0.5m of the service line that connects their property to our power pole in the street. To find out more visit https://www.powerwater.com.au/outages/safety-and-emergencies/trees-and-powerlines

With severe weather season here, we also remind Territorians to prepare for future weather events by having an emergency kit with enough supplies, including drinking water, food, medication and a battery-powered torch, to last at least 72 hours without essential services.
