Power and Water crews from Darwin and Katherine were deployed to all areas affected by ex-Tropical Cyclone Trevor once clearance was given by police survey teams on Sunday.

Charter planes were on standby to transport crews while equipment was sent by road.

As of late Sunday, services were restored to Groote Eylandt, Bickerton Island, Ngukurr and Rittarangu.

Precautionary boil water alerts remain in place for all areas with the exception of Groote Eylandt, which was lifted by the Department of Health prior to residents returning.

In Borroloola, crews reported damage to a number of the high voltage and low voltage powerlines. There are 12 domestic service lines requiring repairs, which will require a Certificate of Compliance to be issued before power supply can be restored.

Robinson River remains inaccessible by road, however some power has been restored. Once the roads are re-opened and heavy vehicle access allowed, response teams will be able to carry out the necessary repairs to the low voltage powerlines.

Our priority is to safely restore all essentials services as quickly as possible and enable the evacuated residents of the communities to return home soon.
