Power and Water Corporation is calling for expressions of interest from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Territorians who are passionate about advancing reconciliation in our community.

The call for new members to join its Reconciliation Advisory Committee will help guide the next phase of the corporation’s reconciliation journey under a Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2025 to 2028.

The Stretch RAP, launched in June 2025, lays out a clear roadmap for continued and meaningful collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, focusing on strengthening relationships, cultural safety and service responsiveness.

As part of embedding reconciliation into every day operations, Power and Water’s Reconciliation Advisory Committee provides strategic direction and support across the pillars of Relationships, Respect, Opportunity and Governance.

Power and Water is seeking new Reconciliation Advisory Committee members to represent the Darwin and Big Rivers regions, with positions open to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who live in the Northern Territory.

The committee brings together executive leaders and external advisors to help keep Power and Water accountable and connected to community perspectives as it continues its reconciliation journey.

Power and Water CEO and Reconciliation Champion, Djuna Pollard, said the committee plays a vital role in strengthening the governance, leadership and cultural integrity of the organisation’s reconciliation work.

‘We deliver essential services to thousands of Aboriginal Territorians and have a unique opportunity to use our role as an essential services provider as an opportunity to listen, learn, and lead in the reconciliation space,’ Ms Pollard said.

‘Our vision is to be a culturally diverse, modern multi-utility where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people feel respected, safe and recognised as trusted partners in shaping the future.

‘Expanding our knowledge and work in this space, in partnership with Aboriginal Territorians, is important if we are to deliver our essential services effectively.'

Power and Water completed its first Innovate RAP in June 2019 and collaborated with key stakeholders to develop the second Innovate RAP for 2023–2025.
