Reliable infrastructure is critical to supporting communities and tourism in remote regions, so we’re installing new water tanks at Kings Canyon as part of a major investment in the region.

Home to one of the Territory’s most iconic tourism destinations, Watarrka National Park, the region attracts visitors from around the world. This infrastructure investment will support the continued growth of the region, local services such as the Watarrka Health Centre, and the tourism industry, giving operators confidence to invest in the area.

Exact Contracting are delivering the project, which will see 2 ageing 180 kilolitre (kL) fibreglass water storage tanks replaced with 2 new 1 megalitre (ML) glass-fused steel potable water tanks.

This will increase treated water storage capacity from 360 kL to 2 ML - more than 5 times the current capacity, helping to maintain a reliable supply, particularly during busy tourism periods and scheduled maintenance.
