Update 9:00am

Power and Water is prepared for the impact of Tropical Cyclone (TC) Narelle and continues to monitor the situation closely.

We have prepared our power and water assets in communities, with services to remain online for as long as it is safe to do so.

Our crews are on standby to begin assessing the condition of our infrastructure and restoring services to communities, as soon as it is safe to access affected areas.

Our customer call centre is currently operating around the clock to manage any increase in calls. Customers should call 1800 245 092 to report outages or damage to power and water infrastructure.

Water assets in the predicted path of TC Narelle have been isolated to protect them from damage and reduce the time water supply may be offline. Isolating water assets needs to be done manually and once complete running water is not available. We have engaged directly with impacted communities to support them to prepare for water outages and recommended filling containers with clean water for drinking and preparing baby formula.

To protect the power network and the safety of residents in communities in the forecast path of TC Narelle, we have switched power stations to manual operations.

Damage assessment and restoration will commence once access to affected areas is confirmed and it is deemed safe to do so.

Our priority is always to ensure the safety of our community, crews and contractors.

We are aware of power outages in the East Arnhem and the Top End region, and the most up to date information is on our website: https://www.powerwater.com.au/outages
