Power and Water crews have restored the water distribution network to normal operations following the flooding event at Darwin River Dam pump station on Monday.

With two pumps now online, crews are configuring the water network to use Darwin River Dam as the primary water source. This has allowed us to reduce the level of water required from the McMinns and Howard East borefields, which have been pumping at maximum capacity as an interim measure to help meet demand.

NT Health has lifted the Boil Water Alert for the Darwin and Palmerston regions. We will update NT Health as per our standard protocol if unfavourable test results are returned during our routine water testing regimen.

While water restrictions are no longer required, the community is encouraged to remain water wise, especially given the current rainy conditions.

Further repairs will continue over coming days to return Darwin River Dam pump station to full operational capacity.

We appreciate the support and understanding of the community over recent days.
