Update 11:00am

Darwin River Dam is restored to normal operations following flooding that occurred earlier this week.

The four pumps are now repaired, and the pump station has been returned to the overhead power supply network.

While having four pumps working is not a requirement for normal operation, it provides us with additional reassurance and mitigative solutions to ensure the Greater Darwin supply network stays maintained.

Repair works will continue to the treatment and pump station buildings with a focus on flood mitigation works as wet weather conditions continue. Short-term measures include additional sandbagging to protect recent repair works, while longer-term mitigation will include the construction of an additional levee wall to protect pump station infrastructure during severe weather events.

We appreciate the support of the Darwin community, particularly over recent days.
