Update 6:30pm

A large volume of water continues rapidly flowing over the spillway at Darwin River Dam.

The dam is currently sitting at 101% capacity, with an influx of rain forecast over the weekend due to Tropical Cyclone Narelle.

River levels downstream of the dam may rapidly increase with heavy rain causing sudden changes in water levels at road crossings.

We are implementing control measures to prevent further flooding at our Darwin River Dam pump station and have instigated several safeguard measures as a precaution.

Stay up to date with all current warnings and advice through SecureNT.

Always stay away from flooded rivers, drains and waterways for your own safety.
