Our crews continue to work into the night to restore power to homes and businesses across Alice Springs.

Following initial assessments across Central Australia, our crews have confirmed significant and widespread damage to the power network, including fallen power lines, damaged power poles, fallen trees and damage to other electrical infrastructure.

Additional crews have been mobilised from Darwin, Tennant Creek and Katherine to support the response.

Restoration efforts are expected to continue over several days given the extent of the damage.

Important information:

  • Stay away from downed power lines. They may still be live and extremely dangerous. Do not attempt to remove fallen trees or branches from power lines.
  • Life support customers: If you or someone in your household relies on electrically powered life support equipment, please activate your emergency management plan now. Do not wait for power to be restored. If you have an immediate medical emergency, call 000.
  • Storm damage to your property: If your property has been damaged by the storm, or your electrical service line has been pulled away or disconnected from your house, you may need to arrange for a registered electrician to inspect the damage and provide a Certificate of Compliance before we can safely reconnect your power.
  • Electrical safety: Stay well clear of fallen power lines and damaged electrical infrastructure.

We know being without power is frustrating, particularly when we cannot provide an exact restoration time and appreciate the patience and understanding of residents as our crews work through this significant response.
