Power and Water has announced a new memorial scholarship supporting Territorians pursuing careers in the field of economics and business finance.

Open to Northern Territory residents studying anywhere in Australia, the scholarship will provide $10,000 for each year of study, for up to 4 years.

The scholarship has been named in memory of the late Jodi Triggs, a highly respected former member of the Power and Water team who passed away after a long battle with cancer in 2024.

The scholarship supports aspiring students who share Jodi’s passion for economics and business finance and are committed to contributing their skills to the Northern Territory.

The scholarship is open to students who:

  • are a Northern Territory resident;
  • have applied to undertake tertiary studies in the field of economics and business finance; and
  • demonstrate a genuine interest in their chosen field and a commitment to working in the Northern Territory after completing their studies.

Power and Water CEO Djuna Pollard said the Jodi Triggs Memorial Scholarship was a fitting way to honour Jodi’s contribution and celebrate her life while supporting the next generation of professionals.

‘Supporting Territory students pursuing careers in economics and business finance is the perfect way to recognise Jodi’s passion for the Northern Territory, and her hard work and contributions to Power and Water,’ Mrs Pollard said.

Jodi began her career as a Commercial Analyst in the Regulation, Economics and Pricing team before going on to work across many other parts of Power and Water, including Customer, Strategy and Regulation, Power Services, Transformation and Core Operations.

‘Jodi was a valued member of our Executive Leadership Team and highly respected due to her hardworking nature, ability to grasp and resolve complex challenges and genuine character,’ Mrs Pollard said.

‘She also had a big heart and was dedicated to growing our own. She invested her time in mentoring and coaching graduates, and helping team members be their best.

‘This scholarship continues that spirit by giving Territory students the opportunity to build their skills, wherever they choose to study in Australia, and bring that knowledge and experience back to the Territory.’
