Report a fault

Sometimes unexpected events like storms, wildlife, tree damage, or equipment faults can disrupt power and water services.

You can report a power or water fault online, as well as public faults, damage and safety hazards.

Quick steps before you report a fault

  • Step 1. Check the current outages and works page before reporting. Our crews may already be aware of the issue.
  • Step 2. Check to see if power or water is out for anyone else in the area or only at your place. If the issue is only at your place and you're sure you've paid, report a fault. We’ll look into the fault or outage.
  • Step 3. Before reporting a power outage, please wait 15 minutes. National standards require us to wait 15 minutes before attempting to re-energise the lines.

If you see a life-threatening or dangerous situation such as a powerline on the ground, call 000 or the Power and Water emergency line on 1800 245 090 immediately.

Don't touch fallen powerlines, keep others away and immediately call 000 or Power and Water's emergency line 1800 245 090

If there is anything that you think we should know that would help us to locate or understand the issue or fault please let us know
e.g is the item behind locked gates, are there trees in the way etc.
So we can better understand the issue.
