Power network upgrade works in Leanyer Drive, Baroalba Street, Leanyer
To continue to provide a safe and reliable power supply to the area, Power and Water will be upgrading high voltage electrical cables in the Leanyer area.
Work Schedule
Works are planned to take place 24 hours a day from Tuesday 25th August to Friday 28th August 2026, night work is needed to minimise the overall project duration and reduce impacts on traffic and access/power outages in the area during the day.
What to expect during the works
To complete these upgrades safely and efficiently, heavy machinery and specialised equipment will be used around the pits. As a result, residents and businesses in the area may notice increased noise (around 100m from pit) and activity, including during night works. Work at pits will not take place at the same time where increased noise areas overlap. We will make every effort to minimise disruption where possible.
