Business types and class values

We assess the risk of a trade waste discharge by looking at things like how much waste is produced, the type of activity creating it, where it is discharged, what substances are in it, and the customer’s compliance history. Each business type is given a class based on this assessment. The table below shows the full list of business types and their classes.
