Power and Water has replaced the roof of the Casuarina elevated water tank to ensure we maintain water quality within our network. The roof was over 30 years old and had reached the end of its usable life.

Works began on 24 February 2020 and were completed by 25 May 2020.

Under normal operating conditions, Power and Water pump water from the larger ground level tank in the Parer Drive compound to the elevated tank where it is gravity-fed into our network.

Before works commenced, we lowered the water level in the elevated tank through normal use and transferred any remaining water to the ground level tank.

During the works, we pumped water direct from the ground level tank in the compound and other tanks on the network to meet demand and maintain water pressure.

The inside of the tank were cleaned and refilled when the roofing works were complete. We also tested the water to ensure it met all health requirements before being returned to service.

Power and Water contracted local company Halikos Roofing to complete the roofing works.
