Casuarina elevated water tank - Parer Drive, Moil

Power and Water will be replacing the roof of the Casuarina elevated water tank to ensure we maintain water quality within our network. The roof is over 30 years old and has reached the end of its usable life.

Works are scheduled from Monday 24 February to Friday 22 May 2020:

  • 7am to 5pm on weekdays
  • 7am to 1pm on Saturdays.

We expect minimal interruption to customer's water supply as a result of the works.

Some customers may experience occasional discoloured water and/or changes in water pressure.  If you experience discoloured water, running your tap for a few minutes will help to clear it.  See our water quality page for more information.

What’s involved

Under normal operating conditions, Power and Water pump water from the larger ground level tank in the Parer Drive compound to the elevated tank where it is gravity-fed into our network.

Before works commence we will lower the water level in the elevated tank through normal use and transfer any remaining water to the ground level tank.

During the works, we will be pumping water direct from the ground level tank in the compound and other tanks on the network to meet demand and maintain water pressure.

When the roofing works are complete, the inside of the tank will be cleaned and refilled. We will then test the water to ensure it meets all health requirements before returning the tank to service.

Power and Water has contracted local company Halikos Roofing to complete the roofing works.
