Cyclone Helen Power Restoration Update #9

As at 4.00pm today Power and Water advise that up to 96% of properties that had previously advised they had no power, have now had power restored.

Power and Water would ask that customers still experiencing power problems contact us on 1800 245 090.

During the course of the day properties in the Darwin River, Batchelor and Berry Springs area have been restored and crews have been despatched to Dundee Beach which should be restored by 8.00pm tonight.

In the Darwin urban area, Bald Circuit, Alawa power has been restored and the low voltage line in Osterman Cres, Coconut Grove has been restored with crews continuing to work on individual services.

Customers are reminded that if the power line has been pulled away from the house it is essential the householder call a licensed electrician to check for damage and provide a certificate of compliance.  Power and Water cannot reconnect the house until this has been issued.

Crews will continue to work suburb by suburb, area by area throughout the night and during the day to deal with any outstanding repair and customer reported issues.
