Cyclone Helen Power Restoration Update #3

Power and Water advise that as of 8.00 am Sunday 6 January

Crews are attending to ongoing repair work in the following areas in Darwin, Jingili, Moil, Alawa and Nakarra and while power is now mainly restored to these areas, residents may experience temporary outages during the day as ongoing repairs are carried out.

Residents in Alawa, near the university may be on generator for 2-3 days due to a number of power poles being bent or down as a result of falling trees.

In the rural areas Power and Water advise the following:

Virginia
Crews will be working today on a fallen tree in Morgan Road
Adelaide River and Batchelor
while the main lines have been restored there are still isolated roads and premises without power due to trees on the lines.  Crews will be attending today in daylight.
Lake Bennet, Tortilla Flats, Bark Hut, Mary River
are still without power
Dundee Beach and Mandorah/Berry Springs Crews will be dispatched to work on these areas today.
Grove Hill Pub at Hays Creek Crews cannot attend at this stage due to road being flooded by Cullen River.
