Cyclone Helen Power Restoration Update #1

Power and Water advise that as of 2.30pm today the following suburbs were still in the process of having power repaired and restored:

• Nakara
• Rapid Creek
• Jingili– partially restored
• Milner
• Parap
• Parts of Nightcliff
• Ludmilla, near the race course
• Coconut Grove
• Moulden – partially restored
• Alawa
• Casuarina/Narkara - approx 1503 customers affected 
• Pinelands
• Stuart Park – partially restored

Suburbs that have had power restored are Moil, Wagaman, Fannie Bay, Kormilda, Yarrawonga and Herbert.

All assessment work has been completed and it is expected that most of the urban Darwin area will have power restored by late today as crews continue to work through each area. 

However, most of the rural area from Howard Springs to Adelaide River plus  Dundee Beach and Mandorah are unlikely to have power restored until tomorrow.

Due to the damage caused by Cyclone Helen in some areas, multiple faults are being identified on some lines. Again, residents are urged not to touch any downed power lines.
