Unravel your lights and show Santa where you live !I Last year’s competition was a great success attracting more than 150 entries with creative residents and businesses in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs lighting up and decorating their houses and commercial properties. The Zuccarato family, Darwin residential winners last year, said, “It was good fun decorating and lighting up the house, we got to meet a lot of people who came to have a look and we will definitely be entering again this year”. While judging will again focus on visual impact, design and effort, this year Power and Water are also encouraging entrants to ‘think green’ when decorating their properties by using energy saving LED lights, recycling last year’s lights and using a timer. Jim Bamber, Power and Water’s General Manager Retail, said “We would really like to see more entries from all regions showing Santa where you live or work and the prizes for winning entries are going to be a little different this year. “Power and Water are getting even more into the Christmas spirit this year with prizes being a combination of money off your power bill and a donation to your favourite charity. For example, the first prize winner receives $1000 off their bill and can nominate the charity they would like to receive $100.” The competition opens today and will close on Sunday 2nd December.
