Powering up the V8 Supercars

The Northern Territory round of the 2006 V8 Supercar Championships will be a truly powerful event, thanks to sponsorship from the Power and Water Corporation.

Power and Water has sponsored the V8s through the provision of equipment to help with the event’s power requirements.

The Northern Territory round, from 30 June to 2 July, is one of 11 Australian rounds of the V8 Supercar Championships. There are also rounds in New Zealand and China.

Power and Water sponsorship manager Donna Black said Power and Water was pleased to make a contribution to the success of this popular international event.

“This event now attracts over 40,000 spectators every year, and it’s going from strength to strength,” said Ms Black.

“It’s a fantastic event for Territorians and for the many fans who come to Darwin from interstate and overseas specifically to be spectators for the Territory round, and we’re very proud to be a part of it.”

The 2006 V8 Supercar Championships will be held at the Hidden Valley Raceway.
