Points to note about the costs of heating systems:
The costs of running appliances as listed on this brochure are only approximate. Other factors affect the
effectiveness and efficiency of an appliance and as a result the cost of running it. Some of these factors
are:
- The insulation of the room the appliance is operating in
- How cold the ambient temperature is
- Whether the appliance has a thermostat
- Whether the appliance has a high or low setting
- How old and/or clean and well maintained the appliance is
The more fins an oil heater has the more oil it contains and the longer it retains and radiates heat. The
wattage of the unit is also proportionate to the number of fins it has.
Some fan heaters have thermostats. Fan heaters are rated at 2400 watts, on high setting, regardless of
their size. Their wattage can be halved although this then reduces their heating capacity as well.
None of these heating appliances except for reverse cycle air-conditioning are sold with energy efficiency
star ratings.

Ask your supplier or check on the label of the appliance for details.
