These Guidelines form the basis of accreditation by Power and Water of Consulting Engineers and Contractors carrying out work in the industry. Such accreditation is mandatory from 1 January 2004. The Design and Construction Guidelines have been developed by the Power Networks business unit, and relate only to the Power Networks aspect of Power and Water's business.
Different requirements exist for the water services aspect of Power and Water. For information relating to water services click here.
The Guidelines are organised into ten sections covering general and specific topics. Accreditation is on the basis of individual sections.
Where any variations to the Guidelines are proposed, application must be made in writing to
Manager Network Engineering,
GPO Box 37471
Winnellie Northern Territory 0821.
Nothing in these Guidelines are intended to be applicable to parts of a customer’s installation. However, where permitted by the Wiring Rules, Power and Water does not object to their use in such locations. Such use is entirely at the customer’s own risk.
