SOFTWARE

Web Browser
You need to install version 3 (or higher) of Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
It is recommended that you use the latest versions of either browser.
Microsoft Windows 98 users have Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 installed as part of the operating system.
Alternative browsers have not been tested, but should work.
PDF Reader / Viewer
All standard drawing PDF files can be viewed using the Adobe Reader software available free from the
Adobe website, http://www.adobe.com.
Some of the documents contain multiple pages, eg Drawing Procedures.
TIFF Viewer
All standard drawing TIFF files use CCITT 4 Fax compression to reduce disk storage requirements.
Some of the documents contain multiple pages, eg Drawing Procedures.
To view all of the pages within a TIF file, we recommend using the default Windows TIFF viewers, but you can use other
specialised TIFF viewers as well, e.g. AMS View.
Issues with TIF files have been identified when applications such as Quicktime are chosen as the default Windows program associated
with the TIF file format but are unable to open the specific compression format of TIF files used on this website. Consequently, all of the
TIF files are in the process of being replaced by PDF copies.
Imaging
Imaging is the recommended TIFF viewer as it is installed by all versions of Windows, except the early Windows95a and the recent WindowsXP.
Downloading Imaging for Windows95a is no longer available from Wang/Eastman/Kodak, please contact Drawing Services for assistance.
Wang Imaging is the same software as Eastman Software Imaging, Kodak Imaging and ImageVue.
It is normally located on your computers hard drive at C:\Program Files\Win\Accessories\Imaging\.
Picture and Fax Viewer for WindowsXP
This TIF viewer also allows the viewing of multiple page TIF files. Use the page forward and backward buttons to browse through the pages.
A good feature of this new software is that allows the the printing of entire directories of TIF images, which is useful for creating
hardcopy versions of the Standard Drawings.
When printing from Picture and Fax Viewer, refer to the details contained in the Photo Printing Wizard dialog box.
NOTE: Be sure to review the printing preferences, particularly under the advanced tab for paper size and orientation setup.
