Water Quality

Power and Water has adopted the Framework for Management of Drinking Water Quality contained within the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, published by the National Health and Medical Research Council. These Guidelines are used by water suppliers and health regulators throughout Australia as a reference and guide for what is good quality water.

We collect and test water quality within all our water supply systems, based on a program agreed by the Northern Territory Chief Health Officer. Samples are tested at independent laboratories around Australia. Fact sheets are available which compare typical water chemical and physical analysis with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
