The Power and Water Corporation is government-owned, with a Shareholding Minister Hon Delia Lawrie MLA, the Treasurer, and a Portfolio Minister Hon Kon Vatskalis MLA, the Minister for Essential Services.
Each year, the Statement of Corporate Intent defines the contract between government and the Corporation, and the Annual Report provides the results of theyear’s performance and activities.
Mr Neil Philip - Chairman
Mr Philip has been the Chairman of the Corporation’s Board since its establishment as a Corporation on 1 July 2002. Mr Philip was born and raised in Darwin. Mr Philip, former senior partner of law firm Clayton Utz, Darwin is also Chairman of Nexus Energy Limited, a Melbourne based public listed company.
Mr Philip is an executive director of Philip & Mitaros Projects Pty Ltd, a Darwin based property development company that has undertaken a number of significant property development projects in Darwin.
Mrs Judith King - Deputy Chairman
Judith King has been a non-executive Director of the Corporation’s Board since its establishment. Mrs King has extensive board experience in both private and public sectors and is currently Chair of Information City Australia, AUSeMED, and a director of Federation Square Management. Mrs King is Deputy Chair of the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation and was formerly a director of Melbourne Water Corporation and Citipower Ltd being closely involved in the restructuring and reform of those utilities. She is a Council Member of Swinburne University of Technology and an Adjunct Professor. In January 2003 she was awarded an Australian Centenary Medal.
Mr Peter Vines - Director
Mr Peter Vines recently retired as the Executive General Manager Retail from Origin Energy. He has extensive experience as both a senior executive and board director across the energy utility sector in Australia and overseas.
Based in Melbourne, his executive experience includes leading and managing Origin Energy’s retail business, management of a large power generation business, and management of corporatisation and industry deregulation.
Mr Bob Neil - Director
Mr Bob Neil has both a public and private sector background in oil, gas and electricity industries in Australia, the USA and south-east Asia through roles with Esso Australia, Western Mining Corporation and the New South Wales and Tasmanian Governments.
Now based in Hobart, he was the Director-General of the NSW Department of Energy and Utilities from 1996 to 2001. He is also currently working with the Tasmanian Government to complete Tasmania's entry into the National Electricity Market.
Mr Barry Chambers - Director
Mr Chambers' experience consists of 38 years as a professional engineer working for local, Territory and Federal governments in the provision of infrastructure, planning, land management and environmental services. For 13 years he held CEO positions in large government agencies including positions as a director and chairman of various Corporations Act entities. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, project management, budget management, workplace relations, government decision making processes and ministerial liaison.

Mrs Margaret M Gibson LLB (Hons), BCom, FCA, FTIA, FAICD -
Director
Margaret Gibson currently holds a directorship with the Australia Post board which is due to expire in September 2007. Mrs Gibson is a retired partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers where she was a member of the Board of Partners. She is currently a director of Airtrain Holdings Pty Ltd, a member of the Corporate Advisory Board of Australia and New Zealand of Unisys (Australia), and a councillor and the treasurer of the RSPCA (Queensland).
Mrs Linda Mackenzie - Director
Mrs Linda Mackenzie is currently on the Darwin Port Corporation Advisory Board and has a Bachelor of Commerce with first class honours in finance and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Although no longer with the NT Treasury, Linda was originally appointed Assistant Under Treasurer in February 2003 and previously held the positions of Senior Director Capital Financing (from 1999) and Director Capital Financing (from 1998). Linda has also previously worked in the Corporate Financing and Leasing Division of Macquarie Bank Limited in Sydney on structured finance transactions and was previously a Director (April 2000 - March 2002) of Darnor Pty Ltd and Gasgo Pty Ltd (subsidiary companies of the Power and Water Corporation)
