Power and Water regularly advises the community on the importance of ensuring vegetation near powerlines is cleared. Trimming trees and palms helps reduce the chances of a tree or palm causing an outage in your suburb.

Power and Water urges residents to contact us before pruning so we can advise you on the safest way to do this. If vegetation is close to powerlines it is critical that residents do not attempt to clear it.

For more information refer to our Safety around trees and powerlines and Required clearances for trees near powerlines fact sheets.
