Consumption graphs now on your bills

In addition to printing bills on recycled paper, Power and Water Corporation is now printing electricity and water usage graphs on bills to help customers monitor their use and by cutting back, also help the environment. It has also developed an online Virtual Enery Audit to help you do this.

Customers can now see at a glance their electricity and water use each quarter and track how this compares year to year.

While the highs and lows of the different seasons will probably not be a surprise, the graphs can help customers to see when they happen and if they can bring those high periods down by managing their usage.

For example, you may see that usage is much higher than for a similar time in the previous year so its worth giving your place the once over – have you left your hot water booster on or did you forget to turn the sprinkler system off?

Its not just the big ticket items but small changes to your everyday use will not only lower household or business costs but reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save more water resources.

Power and Water provide a range of tools including the Virtual Energy Audit, tips and publications to help customers to save money and the environment and support organisations such as COOLMob and Alice Solar City to undertake home energy audits in the Territory. A new, online Water Audit is coming soon.
