Community members who do not have generators had been without power since the severe storms on the weekend.
The Power and Water Corporation were unable to access Dundee after flooding in the area. Over the weekend, access to Dundee was limited to light vehicles, preventing heavy trucks with equipment and materials to get through.
With the aim of restoring power as soon as possible, PWC yesterday commissioned a helicopter to travel out to Dundee with several staff members to assess the damage and detail equipment and materials needed.
The corporation was investigating a number of options to enable access to the area, including the possibility of moving equipment and materials by barge to enable work to begin as soon as possible.
Since then dedicated workers undertook repairs underway well into the night.
