Temporary closure of popular ponds

Birdwatchers are advised that the Leanyer and Palmerston wastewater treatment ponds are temporarily closed to the public.

Crocodiles have been reported in these areas and public access has been closed as a safety precaution.

Parks and Wildlife has been contacted to investigate the sightings and if necessary, trap and relocate the crocodiles.

For your safety, please obey all signage and do not enter the sites.

Please note that gate keys to all wastewater treatment ponds will be replaced. Those who currently have keys will no longer be able to enter these areas.
