Power and Water Corporation has teamed up with the savewater!® Alliance Inc. to provide information for Territorians on the national water-saving website. The savewater!® website has a wealth of advice on water conservation whether at home or in your business. It is the one-stop-shop for water conservation ideas.Power and Water joined the savewater!® Alliance in 2008 and has been working with the savewater!® team to produce local web content and a home water use calculator.
Power and Water General Manager Water Services Paul Heaton said Territorians were among the highest water users in Australia and the new local content provided information, tools and resources to help secure our water future.
“The site is divided into three sections – Darwin and the Top End, Alice Springs and Central Australia and Indigenous communities,” said Mr Heaton.
“It also includes links to available water-saving products and rebates.”
The next stage will be the release of a virtual water audit later this year.
This interactive audit will be tailored to Territorians and - based on information provided - highlight where water is used around the home and which simple changes will make real savings.
