Simone shines as a role model

This year’s overall Young Achiever of the Year and Power and Water Science and Engineering Young Achiever Award Winner is a powerful role model for other young Territorians, according to Power and Water General Manager, Alistair Parker.

Mr Parker was congratulating Simone Liddy, 22, of Nakara, who was named winner of the Power and Water award category as well as Channel 9 Young Achiever of the Year at a presentation dinner last Saturday night.

Simone is a high achiever in both the academic and sporting arenas.

After completing her Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Studies through University last year, she now intends to work in health in the Northern Territory and assist in wider community issues relating to indigenous health.

“Simone is clearly a highly capable and intelligent young woman with a bright future,” Mr Parker said.

“We’re proud to be able to make a small contribution toward assisting her to achieve her goals. Simone’s success makes her a fantastic role model for other young people throughout the Territory.”

As a winner of the Power and Water Science and Engineering Award and the Channel 9 Young Achiever of the Year Award, Simone received a $2000 TIO Build Up Saver Account and a trophy.
