The Power and Water Corporation will improve staff training and implement more efficient maintenance and reporting procedures as recommended in the Mervyn Davies’ Report. Power and Water’s Managing Director, Andrew Macrides welcomed the Mervyn Davies’ Report and said it will help the Corporation improve the electricity network."Power and Water is committed to meeting every recommendation contained in Mervyn Davies’ Report," Mr Macrides said.
"Power and Water worked cooperatively with Mervyn Davies in undertaking his review and we are preparing a comprehensive response to his report’s recommendations that will outline exactly how we intend to implement each one, and the timelines for their delivery."
Mr Macrides said Mervyn Davies’ recommendations already in train include:
"We’re taking an orderly and sensible approach to make these changes to our work practices and aim to address comprehensively Mervyn Davies’ recommendations as a matter of priority," Mr Macrides said.
"The electricity network is highly complex infrastructure, and all work will be carried out in line with strict safety standards."
